-Mid week of ho-hum training, trying to build a base before starting some interval, speed work. -I will be alternating 30/40 km bike rides with 1 1/2 hour paddles until the 22nd of July when I will start to double up on certain days.
-I have now built up to 1km swims, and will hopefully be doing 4 per week.
I was asked in a previous comment section, by an unknown person, about the run and my training.
Since I retired 12 years ago, and because of 3 knee operations, I have not run---for the purpose of running. Training--ie. daily milage--would just aggravate the bone on bone to a debilitating level. I do referee basketball--using Ibruprophen as required.
My plans are to 'just run' the 5 km section of the race with whatever fitness level I have. I did this a few years ago on the short leg of the Rum Runners Relay (Queensland to Hubbards) and was not embarrassed by my middle of the pack finish.
I will probably fail the urine test if they do me, since I will have lots of drugs in my system.

Hey!
I estimate that however long it takes you to do the swim portion will likely be the longest you've gone without expressing a verbal opinion about something.
Unless of course, you are near the back of the pack, and one of the safety boat volunteers asks you how you are doing...

Or someone swimming the other way asks what conditions they can expect!! ;P
Me thinks it would be nice to get positive comments to make me feel aggressive in mt training, eh!
