Five (5) weeks done, Nine (9) weeks to go.

I don't know if trekking around various trails in New Hampshire's White Mountains can be considered cross training, and if the past week will be beneficial to a successful Quadrathlon......................but it sure was fun.

Getting some rays, sitting on an outcropping 'above' the clouds on Mount Willard--best bang for the buck, a one hour hike up a gradual trail, coming out to rock ledges, 2,000 feet straight down into Franconia Notch.

At Cloudland Falls, part way up Falling Waters Trail, a 3,000 foot climb to The Franconia Ridge. This trail is a bit more aggressive, 3 1/2 hours steady up.

But gorgeous with many falls---water that is.

In the rock garden outside the AMC hut, Lakes of the Clouds, the highest of the 11 buildings in the hut system at 5,050 feet.

We climbed to Lakes via the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail, even more great falls than Falling Waters.

I plan on getting back into a good training structure this week, and next week will up the milages and do double disciplines.

I guess you may say the fun is over and the work begins.

But I guess when the work is biking, paddling, and swimming, lif isn't all that bad.
